In a daring attempted robbery in Philadelphia, a 16-year-old boy found himself shot in the leg by an armed man he was trying to rob. The teenager, along with another suspect, approached the man and his girlfriend on Emerald Street at around 11 p.m. on Sunday.
The suspects demanded the man's keys, wallet, and other valuables, with one of them using a toy gun pressed into the man's back. Unbeknownst to them, the man they targeted was carrying a legal firearm, which he used in self-defense, shooting the 16-year-old in the leg.
Police confirmed that the weapon wielded by the teenager was, in fact, a toy gun, highlighting the dangerous situation the suspects put themselves in. The armed man acted within his rights to defend himself and his girlfriend, as per Philadelphia Police Inspector DF Pace.
